Yahoo Finance Ends Polymarket Prediction Market Partnership

Yahoo Finance has ended its prediction market partnership with Polymarket, bringing to a close an agreement that previously integrated the operator’s probability data across the financial news platform.

The partnership was announced in November 2025 and made Polymarket Yahoo Finance’s exclusive prediction market partner, with data covering financial, economic and political events incorporated into the platform.

A dedicated prediction market hub was subsequently introduced on Yahoo Finance but removed in April 2026. Yahoo has now confirmed that the wider data partnership has also concluded.

Polymarket will, however, continue working with Yahoo as an advertising partner.

Yahoo Remains Open To Prediction Market Partnerships

A Yahoo spokesperson confirmed the change while indicating that the company could consider similar arrangements in the future.

“We had a previous partnership with Polymarket to display relevant prediction market data across Yahoo Finance,” the spokesperson said.

“That specific agreement ended, but Polymarket continues to be an advertising partner across Yahoo and we’re open to similar types of partnerships.”

Neither company disclosed the reason for ending the agreement or provided details of its commercial terms.

The partnership had been intended to give Yahoo Finance users an additional source of information on market expectations, with Polymarket probabilities displayed alongside coverage of economic indicators, government decisions and other major events.

Polymarket Continues Media And Sports Expansion

The end of the Yahoo Finance agreement comes as prediction market companies continue to pursue partnerships with established media organisations.

Polymarket agreed a separate deal with Dow Jones in January, bringing its prediction market data to publications including The Wall Street Journal.

Competitor Kalshi has pursued a similar strategy, establishing partnerships with media companies including CNN, CNBC and Fox.

Polymarket has also expanded its presence across sport and entertainment. The company has secured agreements involving Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer and the National Hockey League, alongside sports data partnerships with Genius Sports and Sportradar.

Those arrangements provide access to services including official sports data, live-streaming content and integrity monitoring.

Polymarket has also reportedly entered an exclusive agreement with the Golden Globe Awards to incorporate prediction probabilities into coverage of the 2026 awards.

Regulatory Questions Remain For Prediction Markets

The continued commercial expansion comes as prediction markets face regulatory disputes over how certain contracts should be classified.

In the US, Polymarket and Kalshi have faced challenges from state regulators that argue some sports-related event contracts operate in a similar manner to conventional sports betting.

Prediction market operators have instead maintained that qualifying event contracts fall under federal derivatives regulation and Commodity Futures Trading Commission oversight rather than state gambling regimes.

Polymarket has encountered separate regulatory challenges internationally, with restrictions or enforcement action affecting its operations in several jurisdictions.

The company has nevertheless continued to attract investment as the prediction market sector expands.

Yahoo’s decision therefore ends one prominent distribution arrangement for Polymarket without ending the companies’ commercial relationship entirely, with the operator remaining an advertiser across Yahoo properties while pursuing other media, sports and entertainment partnerships.
