iGaming News Editor and Founder Abigail Welch has been named iGaming Lady of the Year 2026 at the Balkan Web3 & iGaming Awards (BWiGA).

The accolade was announced as part of the BWiGA NFT Online Awards, with winners selected through community voting across categories recognising individuals, teams and businesses within the iGaming and digital entertainment sectors.

Welch received the award in recognition of her work within the industry and the continued development of iGaming News as an independent B2B publication covering the global gambling sector.

Building iGaming News

Since founding iGaming News, Welch has overseen the publication’s development into an international media platform delivering daily industry news alongside interviews, thought leadership, event coverage, podcasts and specialist features.

A key part of the publication’s approach has been providing a platform for professionals from across the industry, including a focus on increasing the visibility of women working within iGaming.

The recognition comes during a period of continued expansion for iGaming News, including a growing presence at major international industry events and the development of partnerships across gaming, technology, payments and the wider iGaming ecosystem.

Abigail Welch: ‘It Means An Incredible Amount’

Commenting on the award, Abigail Welch, Editor and Founder of iGaming News, said:

“I’m genuinely thrilled to have been named iGaming Lady of the Year. To know that people within the industry took the time to vote for me makes the recognition particularly special.

“iGaming News has been a huge part of my life, and I’m incredibly proud of what we have built and continue to build. From the beginning, I wanted it to be a publication that represents the breadth of this industry, tells the stories that matter and gives people a platform to share their expertise and achievements.

“Supporting and highlighting women within iGaming has also always been incredibly important to me. There are so many talented women shaping the future of our sector, and I want iGaming News to continue playing its part in making sure those voices are seen and heard.

“Thank you to everyone who voted, to the BWiGA team for the recognition and, most importantly, to everyone who has supported iGaming News along the way. This award means an incredible amount to me.”
