Spotlight Sports Group Enters Gaming With Engage Games Partnership

Spotlight Sports Group (SSG) has entered the gaming vertical for the first time through a strategic partnership with Engage Games, expanding its offering beyond its established racing, sports betting technology and content operations.

The agreement will combine Engage Games’ gaming platform with Spotlight’s data, content and international distribution network. Sportsbook operators within SSG’s global partner network will be able to access bespoke games developed collaboratively around their individual requirements.

Partnership Expands Spotlight Product Offering

The partnership will cover both free-to-play and pay-to-play products, with available game mechanics including fantasy, predictor, survivor and bet builder formats. Racing-focused games will also be powered by Spotlight’s Smart View Engine.

SSG said its decision to enter the vertical reflects growing operator demand for free-to-play gaming products designed to support customer engagement, retention, reactivation and acquisition.

Rob Brown, B2B Growth Director at Spotlight Sports Group, said:

“This partnership marks a significant step for SSG as we extend our product capability into the games space.

“In Engage Games, we have found a partner with a proven ability to deliver games that produce real commercial outcomes for partners.”

Engage Games founder Ryan Lawrence said the partnership would provide the supplier with access to Spotlight’s international network of operators and rights holders.

“Partnering with SSG – one of the most trusted names in global racing and sports betting – reflects the reputation and results we’ve built, and it’s the natural next step in our mission, to get better game experiences into the hands of as many players as possible,” Lawrence said.

“Through SSG’s network, we can now put proven, performance-driven capabilities in front of operators and rights holders worldwide.”

Spotlight Continues Product Expansion

The move into gaming follows a period of investment in technology and product development at Spotlight, which is also the group behind Racing Post.

In June, the company appointed Adam Gill as Chief Technology Officer, with responsibility for technology and engineering across the group. His appointment included a focus on using technology to reach new audiences and developing the practical application of artificial intelligence across the business.

Earlier in 2026, Spotlight also outlined its Racing Innovation strategy and introduced two new products for operators: the Smart View Tipping Feed and Racing Bet Builder.

Both products use algorithm-driven technology intended to simplify the betting experience and increase customer engagement. The new Engage Games partnership extends that strategy into gaming, adding a new product category to Spotlight’s existing B2B offering.
