KSA Launches Awareness Campaign: 'Pick up your Life Again, Take a Gambling Stop'

The Netherlands' Gaming Authority (KSA) has launched a new awareness campaign titled “Pick up your life again, take a gambling stop,” aimed at highlighting the risks of gambling and encouraging the use of the Cruks self-exclusion register.

Building on the success of a 2023 pilot initiative, the campaign retains the term “gambling stop,” which resonated strongly with its target audience during the pilot phase.

This updated effort focuses on young adults, a group identified as particularly vulnerable to losing control over their gambling behavior. To connect effectively with this demographic, the campaign primarily uses social media platforms – including Google, YouTube, Meta, and Snapchat – rather than traditional mass media.

The campaign emphasizes the positive outcomes of taking a break from gambling. Through online videos and social ads, real-life stories of young people regaining control and reclaiming their lives are showcased to inspire others.

Central to the initiative is the Cruks self-exclusion register, a tool that enables individuals to voluntarily exclude themselves from gambling activities. By promoting Cruks and its benefits, the KSA aims to provide a practical solution for those struggling with gambling addiction while fostering greater awareness of responsible gambling practices.
