BetMGM Secures Sponsorship of Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham Festival Until 2027
In addition to backing the Champion Chase, BetMGM has taken on headline sponsorship for several other notable races at Jockey Club venues.

BetMGM has officially become a betting partner of the Jockey Club and will sponsor the prestigious Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival until 2027. The bookmaker replaces Betway, who had sponsored the race since 2015. In addition to backing the Champion Chase, BetMGM has taken on headline sponsorship for several other notable races at Jockey Club venues.
These races include the Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter, the Grade 2 Elite Hurdle at Wincanton, and the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket, as well as "several" races at Cheltenham’s December meeting.
Sam Behar, UK director at BetMGM, expressed the company’s enthusiasm:
“The Cheltenham Festival is where everyone wants to be and we are very excited to be right in the thick of it by sponsoring one of the feature races of the four-day meeting. The BetMGM Queen Mother Champion Chase is one of the biggest and most valuable races of the entire year, and we really feel this sponsorship shows our commitment to horseracing in this country moving forward."
Behar added, “By becoming an official betting partner of the Jockey Club, we are putting ourselves where we want to be and we’re really looking forward to being associated with several big races across the country over the next couple of years.”
Dan Glavin, bookmaker partnership manager at the Jockey Club, also commented on the partnership:
“The team at BetMGM is full of enthusiasm and we look forward to working closely with them over the months and years to come.”
Last season, BetMGM made its debut at the Cheltenham Festival by sponsoring the Vincent O’Brien County Hurdle. However, the bookmaker will shift its focus to the Queen Mother Champion Chase, leaving the Vincent O’Brien County Hurdle in need of a new sponsor.
