Catena Media Sells SuperScommesse to Oddschecker

Catena Media stated on Tuesday that it has sold its Italian assets, including SuperScommesse, for a total of €19.8 million ($21.5 million/£17.2 million). Catena announced the sale by stating that its Italian division earned sales of €7.8 million and EBITDA of €3.4 million in the fiscal year ending September 2023.

Oddschecker has now provided further information about its future ambitions for the SuperScommesse brand in Italy. It did not, however, reveal how much it spent for the company.

Oddschecker stated that the purchase will aid in the firm's consolidation as Italy's biggest sports betting advertising provider. SuperScommesse will harness tens of millions of unique users as part of current media relationships with Gazzetta and DAZN.

“SuperScommesse furnishes OGM with deep local expertise, featuring a team that has proven itself adept at driving sustained growth in the market, allied to a recognisable and trusted local-language brand,” Oddschecker said in a statement.

“In addition, its tech stack and tools will deliver network efficiencies to the acquiring group’s brands in other markets, while OGM’s own technology will improve SuperScommesse’s services and fan engagement across a loyal customer base.”
