IGT Announces 10-year Agreement with National Lottery in Malta
IGT has collaborated closely with National Lottery PLC to establish a new lottery system for Malta, which includes the reintroduction of instant tickets for participants.

International Game Technology (IGT) has signed a 10-year contract with National Lottery PLC, the newly elected operator of the National Lottery in Malta, with a second contract expected to last until 2032.
IGT has collaborated closely with National Lottery PLC to establish a new lottery system for Malta, which includes the reintroduction of instant tickets for participants.
After National Lottery PLC was granted its licence in July 2022, IGT's lottery central system and retail solutions were introduced in Malta in July 2022.
Additionally, an additional draw and two new games, Pick 3 and Super 5-4-3-2-1, were devised for Lotto.
This represented the nation's first live draw games in more than a decade.
Johann Schembri, founder and CEO of IZI Group, stated:
"IGT's extensive experience with achieving significant sales growth for leading lotteries such as National Lottery PLC made it an ideal partner for re-establishing Malta's National Lottery."
National Lottery PLC, a subsidiary of IZI Group, was awarded the contract after Malco Lotteries Limited's tenure terminated due to the dissolution of the country's government monopoly.
Until July 2032, the National Lottery will be governed and supervised by the Malta Gaming Authority and managed by National Lottery PLC.
Jay Gendron, IGT Chief Operating Officer, Global Lottery, said:
"National Lottery PLC and IGT had an ambitious, seven-month timeline to complete a comprehensive lottery system implementation and deploy new equipment throughout Maltese retailers.
"Nevertheless, IGT was up for the challenge. Our technology, along with new draw-based games and features, went live in record time and on schedule."
