Oddsgate Expands African Presence Through KwanzaBet Partnership

Oddsgate has expanded its presence in Africa after integrating Angola-based betting operator KwanzaBet onto its platform.

The partnership forms part of Oddsgate’s strategy of supporting locally established operators in emerging regulated markets. The company said Angola represents an important opportunity as the country develops its framework for online gaming and multi-channel betting.

Oddsgate Targets Angola’s Developing Betting Market

Angola has recently updated its gambling framework through Lei nº 17/24, introducing provisions covering online gaming and multi-channel betting under the supervision of the country’s gambling regulator, the ISJ. The legislation also introduced minimum capital requirements and anti-money laundering standards.

Oddsgate believes its experience in other developing regulated jurisdictions can support operators navigating similar changes in Africa. The company highlighted its involvement in Brazil during the country’s transition towards a federally regulated online betting and gaming market as particularly relevant to its strategy in Angola.

Tiago Almeida, CEO of Oddsgate, said:

“Since [Oddsgate’s] foundation, we have grown alongside Brazil through every stage of its path to regulation, an experience that taught us to anticipate operators’ needs before they surface. Angola shares more than a language with us; they share that trajectory.

“And because technology alone doesn’t win markets, our B2B managed services in SEO, CRM, and more add an optimisation layer that turns local insights into measurable performance.”

KwanzaBet Targets Long-Term Development

KwanzaBet has operated in Angola for approximately a year, with its offering focused around football, sports betting and gaming. The operator has sought to build its presence around local identity and accessibility while developing its technology and player experience.

Under the partnership, KwanzaBet will use Oddsgate’s platform and wider B2B services as it seeks to develop its operations in the country.

Romilson Teixeira, Sportsbook and Casino Manager at KwanzaBet, said:

“[KwanzaBet’s] vision is to build an increasingly efficient, technological, secure operation focused on delivering an excellent experience to our players.

“We consider our partnership with Oddsgate fundamental to our strategic development, as we aim to build a long-term relationship that allows us to align plans, share knowledge, and develop strategies capable of creating competitive advantage and differentiation.”

Further African Expansion Planned

The KwanzaBet integration represents part of a wider African expansion strategy for Oddsgate, with the company expecting Angola to become the first of several markets on the continent where it increases its presence over the coming years.

“We’re proud to welcome KwanzaBet, a brand deeply rooted in its market, and to support their next phase of growth,” Almeida added.

Oddsgate said it will continue targeting opportunities in regulated and emerging African betting markets as it looks to expand its international operator network.
