Entain Launches ‘Nearest the Pin’ Market Ahead of Record-Breaking Masters Betting

Entain’s Managing Director for Sports has said the gambling group is anticipating “record” engagement for The Masters in both the UK and US, following the launch of a new betting market.

The company, which owns Ladbrokes and holds a 50 per cent stake in BetMGM alongside MGM Resorts, has unveiled a “nearest the pin” market for punters betting on the iconic golf tournament.

This new feature is available on all par-three holes at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, US.

Greg Ferris commented:

“The combination of iconic players, a legendary course and unique betting opportunities makes it the perfect stage for patriotic punting and exciting new markets.

“This year, with stars like [Bryson] DeChambeau lighting up social media and fresh in-play options like 'nearest the pin' bets, we’re expecting record engagement across both sides of the Atlantic."

Entain said The Masters typically ranks as the company’s fourth biggest global betting event of the year, behind only the Grand National, the Super Bowl and the Champions League final.

The company also revealed that The Masters accounts for 40 per cent of all bets placed on golf’s four majors. Collectively, the majors represent around one-third of annual golf betting activity.
