IESF Announces Record-Breaking 136 Nations Registered for 2025 Esports Season

The International Esports Federation (IESF) has reached a major milestone, with 136 nations officially registered for the National Qualifiers of the 2025 esports season. This record level of participation highlights the continued growth and global appeal of esports, bringing together athletes and fans from around the world under a shared passion for competitive gaming.

The National Qualifiers, which began on 15 January 2025, mark the start of an exhilarating journey for millions of athletes. Competing across PC, mobile, and console titles, these players will battle for the chance to represent their nations on the biggest stage in esports.

Reflecting on this achievement, IESF General Secretary Boban Totovski stated:

“The participation of 136 Member Federations in this year’s National Qualifiers is an extraordinary accomplishment. It reflects the deep passion, dedication, and unity within the global esports community. We eagerly anticipate witnessing the emergence of this year’s national champions and the incredible talent that will define the 2025 season.”

As IESF celebrates 16 years of advancing global esports—having hosted its first World Esports Championships in 2009—the 2025 season represents another leap forward in uniting nations through competition. The federation remains committed to nurturing the esports ecosystem, fostering new talent, and celebrating the diversity within the gaming community.

The 2025 season will feature competitions in MLBB, PUBG MOBILE, CS2, Dota 2, and eFootball, ensuring a broad and engaging lineup of titles.

Colin Webster, President of MSSA and former IESF Board Member and President (2013–2020), commented:

“It’s heartwarming to see how successive IESF administrations have built on the strong foundations of the past and further grown the vision that was developed and promoted in the founding of IESF.”

With 136 nations engaged, the 2025 season is set to honour the competitive spirit and innovation of esports. IESF remains dedicated to fostering collaboration, inspiring excellence, and showcasing the extraordinary talent of athletes worldwide.

The journey to an unforgettable year in esports has begun, as IESF continues to unite the world through the shared passion for competitive gaming.
