Flutter Shares Euro 2024 Betting Trends

Flutter Entertainment has revealed key betting statistics for the UEFA European Championships 2024 (Euro 2024), covering both the final and the tournament overall.

The data, which reflects combined totals from Flutter’s three sportsbooks—Paddy Power, Sky Bet, and Betfair—spans the UK and Ireland as of July 12, 2024.

During the tournament, the most favorable outcome for the sportsbooks occurred during England’s quarter-final victory over Switzerland. Gareth Southgate’s team equalized with 10 minutes left in regulation time and eventually triumphed in a thrilling penalty shootout.

Conversely, the least favorable result for the books was Portugal's decisive 3-0 win over Turkey in the group stages, securing their advancement to the knockout rounds with two straight victories.

The most notable BetBuilder win during the Euros came from a customer who successfully hit 16 legs, winning approximately £17,000 ($21,996.47) on Belgium's 2-0 victory over Romania.

As the final between Spain and England approaches on Sunday, Flutter has analyzed the betting support for both teams. For Spain, around £970,000 has been wagered across approximately 96,000 bets, with 70% of these bets placed after the tournament began, as the three-time champions aim for a fourth title.

In contrast, approximately £1.5 million has been staked on England, spread across roughly 150,000 bets, with about two-thirds of these bets made before the tournament started. Notably, despite England reaching the final, data from Entain two weeks ago indicated that only 20% of UK bets at the time supported England to win the tournament.
