Avanti Studios Appoints Former Klarna Finance Chief Jonas Ericson As CFO

Avanti Studios has appointed former Klarna executive Jonas Ericson as Chief Financial Officer as the live casino technology supplier continues to build its senior management team.

Ericson joins Avanti following more than six years at Klarna, where he most recently served as Global Head of Finance. His experience at the Swedish payments company included financial transformation, accounting, new product development and M&A activities across multiple markets.

Ericson Brings Klarna Experience To Avanti

Prior to joining Klarna, Ericson spent almost three years as CFO of Swedish fashion company Eytys. His earlier career included positions as Group Business Controller at The Chimney Pot and financial analyst and controller roles at Nordea, while he studied accounting and financial management at the Stockholm School of Economics.

His appointment provides Avanti with additional financial leadership as the company expands into regulated markets and develops commercial relationships with operators and distribution partners. Ericson becomes the first publicly announced CFO at the business.

“No one in the live casino space is even attempting the ideas that Avanti Studios has already implemented, and I’m looking forward to using this position to grow the brand’s profitability and global impact as CFO,” Ericson said.

The appointment follows the arrival of former Evolution executive Steven Tabone as Commercial Director in July, further expanding Avanti’s leadership team as it develops its international operations.

Avanti Builds Commercial Footprint

Avanti Studios launched in January 2026 under Gustaf Hagman, co-founder and former CEO of LeoVegas, and Jonas Delin, founder of Authentic Gaming. MGM Resorts International acquired LeoVegas for approximately $607 million in 2022, while Genting purchased Authentic Gaming for €15 million in 2019.

The Stockholm-based company uses motion capture, 3D animation and cloud streaming technology to create digital dealers for real-time multiplayer casino games. Its approach is designed to reduce reliance on the physical studio infrastructure traditionally associated with live casino production while allowing operators to customise tables and branding.

Avanti raised an additional €5 million in May, taking its total seed funding to €10 million. Genting Casinos UK participated in both funding rounds.

Supplier Expands Operator Partnerships

Alongside its fundraising activity, Avanti has continued to expand its commercial presence since launching at the beginning of the year. The supplier has agreed a multi-market distribution partnership with Light & Wonder and commenced its rollout in Spain.

Avanti has also secured partnerships with operators including Entain, bet365 and Luckia as it expands the reach of its live casino technology.

The addition of Ericson follows this period of rapid development, adding financial management experience to Avanti’s leadership team as the company continues its expansion across regulated markets.
