Betsson Bolsters B2B and Canadian B2C Footprint with Acquisition of Rhino Entertainment Assets
Betsson has acquired Rhino’s proprietary front-end and middleware technology stack. The integration of these tech assets is designed to enhance Betsson’s B2B ecosystem and unlock incremental licensing revenue streams.

Betsson has formally completed its acquisition of Rhino Entertainment Group’s Canadian-licensed B2C business alongside a suite of proprietary technology assets.
The completed deal sees Betsson take control of several Rhino Group entities holding operational capabilities, licenses, personnel, and assets across Ontario and the wider Canadian market. In addition to expanding its direct-to-consumer footprint, Betsson has acquired Rhino’s proprietary front-end and middleware technology stack. The integration of these tech assets is designed to enhance Betsson’s B2B ecosystem and unlock incremental licensing revenue streams.
Transaction Structure and Financial Terms
The total consideration for the deal remains unchanged at €64.5m (£55.4m). The transaction includes:
Upfront Consideration: €51.25m paid at closing
Deferred Balance: Remaining amount payable within six months
First announced in March, the acquisition aligns with Betsson's dual strategy of scaling its B2C presence in newly regulated regions while building out its modular B2B product suite. Separately, the operator confirmed earlier this summer that Betsson Group expects to finalize a front-of-shirt sponsorship agreement with Maltese Premier League side Sliema Wanderers.
