Wynn Resorts Unveils the 2024 Hypercar Exhibition in Macau

Wynn Resorts has launched a new exhibit, "Wynn Signature – 2024 Hypercar Exhibition," at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace. Supported by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the exhibit will run until October 13, 2024, featuring 30 rare, ultra-luxury vehicles valued at HK$1.5 billion (US$190 million). Brands on display include Bugatti, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and McLaren, among others.

The exhibit is free to visit and aligns with Wynn's strategy to boost tourism to its resorts and Macau. Many of the vehicles are making their Macau debut as part of this exclusive Wynn Signature collection, Wynn’s prestigious lifestyle brand.

The exhibition is part of Macau’s "Tourism+" model, which aims to establish the jurisdiction as a "world center for tourism and leisure." Other strategies, such as the facilitated individual travel (FIT) scheme and the relaxation of travel visas, have been implemented to enhance tourism.

Commenting on the exhibit, Linda Chen, President, Vice Chairman, and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, said:

"'Wynn Signature' is dedicated to strengthening and expanding Macao's position as an international city. As one of the key members in the international hospitality industry, we are committed to showcasing Macao's unique positioning to a global audience."

At the exhibit’s launch ceremony, MGTO Acting Director Cheng Wai Tong stated:

"With MGTO striving to foster diversification of the 'Tourism+' offerings, it is pleased to witness tourism operators' continuing efforts to innovate. The development of tourism services and products targeting the needs of visitors from diverse markets injects novel elements into Macao's tourism experience, offering visitors a special and memorable travel experience."

Diversifying casino revenue beyond gaming has been a significant discussion point among Macau operators and governing bodies. For example, MGM China’s financial results show that 87.4% of its revenue came from casino gaming, compared to only 21.9% in Las Vegas. This diversification need follows recovery efforts post-Covid, with Macau's monthly revenue now exceeding pre-Covid levels, as seen in the July 2024 revenue report.

The Tourism+ strategy was also recently discussed between MGM China, Yangzhou, and MGTO representatives to further enhance Macau’s tourism development.
