Michigan Online Gaming Revenue Reaches $382.5m in May

Michigan's regulated online gaming and sports betting market delivered gross revenue of $382.5m during May, according to the latest figures published by the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB).

The total represents a 3.1% increase compared to April, underlining the continued strength of the state's digital gambling sector despite mixed performance across individual verticals.

Online casino activity remained the primary revenue driver, generating $305.8m in gross receipts during the month. Mobile sports betting contributed a further $76.7m, maintaining a significant presence within Michigan's broader online wagering ecosystem.

The MGCB reported adjusted gross revenue (AGR) of $316.7m for May, comprising $293.5m from igaming operations and $23.3m from online sports betting.

Looking at month-on-month performance, igaming AGR edged up by 0.8%, highlighting the sector's ongoing momentum. In contrast, online sports betting AGR declined by 4.9% compared to April.

Year-on-year comparisons further emphasised the divergence between the two verticals. Igaming AGR increased by 24.2% versus May 2025, continuing its strong growth trajectory. However, online sports betting AGR fell by 34.6% over the same period.

Meanwhile, Michigan's online sports betting handle reached $475.6m in May, representing a slight 0.7% decrease from April's total.

The latest figures reinforce igaming's position as the dominant growth engine within Michigan's regulated online gambling market, while sports betting operators continue to navigate more challenging year-on-year trading conditions.
