Online Casino Drives Growth in Danish Gambling Market for April
Online casino revenue surged by 21.6%, climbing from DKK 273 million (£31.3 million) in April 2024 to DKK 331 million (£38 million) this year.

Gross gaming revenue (GGR) in Denmark rose by 11.5% year-on-year in April 2025, with online casino emerging as the primary engine of growth, according to figures published by national regulator Spillemyndigheden.
Online casino revenue surged by 21.6%, climbing from DKK 273 million (£31.3 million) in April 2024 to DKK 331 million (£38 million) this year.
Sports betting also posted a modest increase, with revenue up 6.1% year-on-year—from DKK 195 million (£22.4 million) to DKK 207 million (£23.7 million).
By contrast, the land-based sector experienced declines. Revenue from physical casinos dipped by 2.5%, while gaming machines recorded a 3.6% drop.
Total GGR across all verticals reached DKK 665 million (£76.3 million) in April 2025, compared to DKK 596 million (£68.3 million) during the same period last year.
The figures highlight the continued shift towards digital channels in Denmark’s regulated gambling market.
