Paddy Power to Turn 345 Bookies into Covid-19 Vaccination Centres
Its employees will also be part of the group of volunteers who will work to help vaccinate 15 million people by March in a massive and solidarity campaign.

Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has announced that it will make its 345 closed bookies available to the UK Government to use as Covid-19 vaccination centres.
Its employees will also be part of the group of volunteers who will work to help vaccinate 15 million people by March in a massive and solidarity campaign.
This is a result of Paddy Power joining The Sun’s #JabsArmy initiative which aims to get the nation vaccinated.
“We've joined forces with The Sun for the #JabsArmy campaign to help the NHS recruit the volunteers needed for the safe running of pop-up vaccination centres in the fight against COVID-19. Through the NHS Volunteer Responders Programme, delivered by the Royal Voluntary Service, almost anyone can sign up to play their part in the drive to get 15 million people in the UK immunized by March. As part of this, we have vowed to encourage our staff to volunteer – and have offered our shops nationwide as vaccination sites, should they be needed”, the company announced in an official statement.
Paddy Power will now offer use of its betting shops as temporary vaccination centres.
A spokesman said:
“The sooner we can all get vaccinated, the sooner we can get back to our lives – seeing family, and then promptly escaping them again at the football or the pub.
“But, seriously, if we can play even a small role in getting the country back on its feet, we’d be very proud.
“So we are offering the use of our 345 Paddy Power shops, and the staff who work in them, across the country.”
