Growth for French iGaming Market
According to the country’s gambling regulator, third quarter revenue climbed by 17.1%

The French gambling market has rebounded after the substantial dip in profits caused by the Coronavirus and subsequent lockdown.
According to the country’s gambling regulator, third quarter revenue climbed by 17.1% year-on-year, with online poker playing a huge part in these growth figures. Horse racing also enjoyed a strong third quarter. Customers wagered close to €363m during Q3, which resulted in revenue of €87m; a 31.8% year-on-year improvement.
Revenue for the three months leading up to 30 September grew to €405m (£361.5m/$482.2m). This is a 25.4% growth on the second quarter. Active player accounts saw a 29.3% increase to 2.7m.
The country’s gambling regulator L’Autorité nationale des jeux (ANJ) described this as a “spectacular recovery”.
ANJ president Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin said:
“The online gambling market’s recovery must be accompanied by greater accountability from operators”.
“Unlike the first lockdown, sports and horse race betting gambling offers are widely available and this situation can constitute a breeding ground for the development of excessive or risky practices for people weakened by this unprecedented context.”
