Netherlands Renews First Online Gambling Licences For Five Years
The Netherlands has renewed the first online gambling licences issued after the country opened its regulated market in 2021, with all eight licences due to expire this year extended.
The Dutch gambling regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has renewed the online gambling licences of the first operators to launch in the Netherlands’ regulated market.
The licences were due to expire on 30 September, five years after online gambling was legalised in the country. The renewed licences are valid from 1 October 2026 until 30 September 2031.
Eight operators have received renewed licences:
TOTO Online (TOTO and Winnitt)
Holland Casino (Holland Casino Online)
Play North Limited (Kansino)
FPO Nederland (FairPlay Casino)
Bingoal Nederland (Bingoal)
Hillside (New Media Malta) (bet365)
NSUS Malta (GG Poker)
Betent (BetCity)
KSA Reviews Operator Compliance
The KSA said it assessed multiple factors as part of the renewal process, including violations recorded against operators during the previous five years.
Several operators were also given “additional points for attention” as part of the regulator’s assessment.
The KSA confirmed that all online betting and gaming licences due to expire in 2026 have now been renewed.
The renewals allow the eight operators to continue offering regulated online gambling services in the Netherlands through to September 2031.
