SmartSoft has joined the African iGaming Alliance (AiA) as a Gold Supplier Member, with the partnership set to involve industry discussions around regulation, responsible gambling and market access across African markets.

The B2B software and games provider, which was founded in Georgia in 2015, has an established presence in several African markets. It is known for its JetX crash game.

As part of its Gold Supplier Membership, SmartSoft will participate in selected AiA industry engagements, regulatory discussions, policy consultations, research initiatives and strategic roundtables.

The organisations will also collaborate on issues including B2B licensing, market access, responsible gambling, regulation, taxation, channelisation and illegal gambling.

SmartSoft To Participate In Industry Discussions

The AiA said the partnership forms part of its wider objective of bringing operators, suppliers and other industry stakeholders into discussions with regulators and governments as gambling markets across Africa develop.

Peter Emolemo Kesitilwe, CEO of the AiA, said suppliers have an important role in the region’s gambling ecosystem.

“We are delighted to welcome SmartSoft as a Gold Supplier Member of AiA. Suppliers are an important part of Africa’s gambling ecosystem, and their experience and technical expertise need to form part of the wider conversation about how our markets develop. SmartSoft already has significant exposure to African markets, and we look forward to working with their team on issues ranging from B2B licensing and market access to responsible gaming, channelisation and sustainable regulation. Our aim is to create an environment in which regulators, operators and suppliers can engage constructively on the opportunities and challenges facing the industry across the continent.”

SmartSoft CEO Guram Gotsadze said Africa forms part of the company’s international growth strategy and that the membership would support its engagement with stakeholders in the region.

“Africa is a key growth market within SmartSoft’s international strategy, and joining the African iGaming Alliance represents an important step in strengthening our long-term commitment to the continent. We believe that sustainable growth depends on close collaboration between regulators, operators, suppliers and industry associations. Through our partnership with AiA, we look forward to contributing our experience as a B2B technology provider to discussions around responsible gaming, effective regulation, B2B licensing and the development of well-regulated markets across Africa. We are pleased to join AiA as a Gold Supplier Member and look forward to working together to support an innovative, responsible and sustainable future for Africa’s igaming industry.”

Partnership To Support AiA Initiatives

SmartSoft will contribute technology and market expertise where appropriate to the AiA’s regulatory and policy engagements, Supplier Advisory Forum, strategic roundtables, research and responsible gambling initiatives.

The organisations said the partnership is intended to bring industry and technology expertise into discussions around regulatory and policy development while supporting responsible and sustainable gambling practices across African markets.
