GeoComply Promotes Steven Vo To Chief Technology Officer
The long-serving executive will lead GeoComply’s technology strategy as the company expands beyond gaming and increases its focus on AI.

GeoComply Solutions has promoted Steven Vo to Chief Technology Officer (CTO), placing one of the geolocation technology provider’s earliest employees in charge of its technical direction.
Vo first joined GeoComply in 2012 and was part of the team responsible for launching the company's first geolocation compliance solution in New Jersey in 2013, as the state became the first regulated iGaming market in the US.
After spending six years away from the business in engineering roles at Amazon and Uber, Vo returned to GeoComply in 2021. He has since led its engineering organisation, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Engineering.
Vo To Lead Technology Strategy
Since returning to GeoComply, Vo has overseen engineering supporting the company's expansion into areas including financial services, media and entertainment. He has also helped shape the development of its location, device and behavioural intelligence technology as the company increases its focus on artificial intelligence.
GeoComply CEO Kip Levin said:
“Our customers rely on us for decisions that carry real regulatory and financial weight, and the person setting our technical direction should have lived those stakes for years, and Steven has.
“As we expand into new verticals and build for the AI era, that is exactly the kind of leadership our customers should expect.”
Vo's previous experience includes working on large-scale, real-time systems at Amazon and Uber. When he returned to GeoComply, he initially took responsibility for risk and anti-fraud engineering before assuming wider leadership of the company's engineering function.
GeoComply Targets Next Stage Of Expansion
GeoComply Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer David Briggs said Vo's experience developing the company's original technology and his relationships with customers made him well placed to oversee its next stage of development.
“Steven has been building GeoComply’s technology since almost the beginning, and he understands better than anyone where it needs to go next,” Briggs said. “Our customers are moving into new markets and facing fraud that gets smarter every month.
“Having a CTO who both built the foundation and knows our customers’ technical teams by name is exactly what this next stage calls for. I could not be more excited to have Steven in this role.”
GeoComply Co-Founder and Executive Chair Anna Sainsbury also highlighted Vo's involvement in the company's development from its early focus on regulated gaming through to its expansion into other industries.
“Steven was in the room when we built the first version of this technology and GeoComply was still proving that compliant geolocation could work at all,” Sainsbury said.
“He came back to lead the versions that took us beyond gaming, and he has never lost sight of why it matters or who it is for. Promoting Steven to CTO reflects both where GeoComply started and where it’s going.”
