The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has reported 70 suspicious betting alerts in the first quarter of 2026, according to its latest Sports Betting Integrity update.
Football accounted for the highest number of alerts, with 31 matches flagged, followed by tennis with 19. Table tennis generated eight alerts, while esports contributed seven. Cricket, basketball, futsal, handball and ice hockey each recorded one alert.
Of the 49 alerts shared with relevant stakeholders, the majority were linked to Europe (29), with eight originating from North America and nine from Asia. The remaining three alerts were distributed across South America, Africa and the Middle East, with one case reported in each region.
