Digitain Secures Isle of Man Supplier Licence to Support Global Expansion
New approval strengthens the sportsbook technology provider’s footprint in tier-one regulated jurisdictions

Sportsbook and iGaming technology supplier Digitain has been granted a software supplier licence by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission, marking another step in the company’s international growth strategy.
The licence has been issued to Digitain’s locally registered entity, Blue Whale Limited, allowing the group to operate from one of the industry’s most established and tightly regulated jurisdictions. The approval further reinforces the Isle of Man’s reputation as a long-standing hub for regulated iGaming suppliers, built on regulatory certainty and institutional stability.
Tim Johnston MHK, Isle of Man Minister for Enterprise, welcomed Digitain’s entry into the jurisdiction, describing the decision as a strong endorsement of the island’s regulatory framework and business environment. He noted that the Isle of Man continues to attract large-scale technology providers that prioritise high compliance standards and long-term operational certainty.
With more than two decades of experience supplying sportsbook and gaming solutions to both online and retail operators, Digitain’s profile aligns closely with the Isle of Man’s focus on sustainable, well-regulated industry growth. The new licence is expected to support the company’s expansion across Europe, where it already holds a meaningful presence in several regulated markets.
Digitain has been particularly active in strengthening its European operations in recent years. Romania remains a key market for the supplier, following a deal last year with 888 Romania that further consolidated its position in the country. In parallel, the company opened a new headquarters in Malta, which now serves as a central base for regulatory engagement, partner support and regional operations under the leadership of Aida Vardanyan.
Vardanyan commented that the Isle of Man licensing process was thorough and transparent, reflecting the jurisdiction’s regulatory depth and experience. She added that the approval positions Digitain to continue scaling its regulated business from another globally respected iGaming centre, alongside Malta.
Both the Isle of Man and Malta are widely regarded as benchmark jurisdictions for the licensed gambling sector, offering stable frameworks that appeal to established operators and suppliers. Digitain’s latest approval underlines its strategy of expanding within markets that combine regulatory credibility with long-term commercial opportunity.
