EGBA Welcomes Tipico As New Member To Expand European Representation

The European Gaming and Betting Association has added German sports betting and iGaming operator Tipico to its membership, strengthening its representation across key European markets. The move aligns with EGBA’s objective of promoting a fair, transparent and well-regulated gambling environment across the region.

As a member, Tipico will participate in EGBA working groups and initiatives focused on responsible advertising, safer gambling measures and anti-money laundering standards. The association said the addition reinforces collective efforts to share best practices and address common regulatory challenges across Europe.

Jochen Weiner, director of public policy at Tipico, said the membership reflects the operator’s long-standing focus on high standards. “As a company committed to player protection and regulatory excellence, we look forward to contributing our expertise to EGBA’s important work,” he said. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to promoting high industry standards and our fight against the black market for online gambling in Europe.”

EGBA secretary general Maarten Haijer welcomed Tipico’s arrival, pointing to the operator’s experience in regulated markets. “As Germany’s leading online gambling operator with a strong track record, Tipico brings valuable expertise to our association and will reinforce our collective efforts to promote a well-regulated and sustainable gambling sector in Europe,” he said.

Tipico’s membership comes amid continued debate around market channelisation and illegal gambling activity in Germany. Both Tipico and EGBA have previously highlighted the need for policy adjustments to strengthen regulation and reduce black-market influence, an area where the operator has shared practical experience in enforcement and cooperation initiatives.
