LottoTech has said its recent overhaul of Loto and Loto Plus is designed to strengthen funding for Mauritius’ Consolidated Fund and National Solidarity Fund, as the national lottery begins its first full year under the revised framework.

The operator stated that higher player participation under the new structure should result in increased financial contributions to national development and social initiatives. LottoTech emphasised that the lottery’s role extends beyond entertainment, with additional funding supporting community, cultural, health, sports and environmental projects.

The changes, introduced on 18 December 2025, represent the first adjustments to minimum jackpots, bet prices and match-three payouts since 2009. LottoTech said the decision followed rising operational and technology costs, alongside player feedback suggesting that starting jackpots had lost their appeal over time.

Positioning the update as a long-term reset, LottoTech said the revised model is intended to protect the sustainability of the national lottery while preserving its public service mandate. The operator added that the refresh allows it to offer more attractive base jackpots while ensuring long-term value for players.

The overhaul is also expected to benefit authorised retailers, with higher jackpots typically linked to stronger footfall and sales across the retail network. LottoTech confirmed that the draw format and transparency measures remain unchanged, maintaining continuity and trust as the games move through 2026.

Under existing legislation, 47.16 per cent of net sales after prize payouts are allocated to the Consolidated Fund, while all unclaimed prizes are transferred to the National Solidarity Fund. LottoTech said this framework guarantees that funding for public and social programmes remains secure and regulated.

Looking ahead, the operator has indicated that Advance Wagering is expected to be introduced in the coming months. While no launch date has been confirmed, LottoTech said the addition could further support participation growth and reinforce contributions to national and social funds.
