FIFA Can’t Ignore Betting Engagement as Stats Perform Deal Confirmed

FIFA has confirmed a wide-ranging partnership with Stats Perform, highlighting the growing commercial importance of betting data around the world’s biggest football tournaments.

The agreement appoints Stats Perform as FIFA’s official betting data partner across a multi-year calendar of competitions. It includes the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Beyond the flagship tournaments, the partnership also covers the 2028 Futsal World Cup, the 2029 Women’s Futsal World Cup, the 2026 and 2027 U-20 Women’s World Cups, the 2027 and 2029 FIFA U-20 World Cups, and the 2029 Intercontinental Cup. The agreement positions Stats Perform as FIFA’s global betting data partner across senior, youth and futsal competitions.

Romy Gai, FIFA’s chief business officer, said the governing body was pleased to work with a leading sports data provider and that the partnership would create opportunities to deliver official products that benefit both the game and its global fan base.

Betting growth hard to ignore.

FIFA’s move reflects the continued expansion of regulated sports betting markets worldwide. Two of the three 2026 World Cup host nations have introduced large-scale legal betting frameworks in recent years, while Mexico remains one of the largest betting markets in Latin America. Growth continues across Europe, Africa and South America despite increasing regulatory and tax pressures in some jurisdictions.

The governing body has become more openly engaged with betting-related commercial opportunities in recent years. FIFA signed its first betting sponsor ahead of the 2022 World Cup and has since extended similar partnerships across other major tournaments. With bookmakers expecting the 2026 World Cup to generate significant betting activity, official data rights have become increasingly valuable.

Under the agreement, Stats Perform will collect and distribute official betting data to licensed operators to support pricing, trading, settlement and in-play betting. The deal also includes the delivery of player statistics, live scores and performance data for broader media and fan engagement purposes.

The partnership underlines how betting engagement has become an embedded part of football’s global commercial landscape, even at the highest levels of the sport.
