LottoItalia, a consortium comprising Allwyn, Arianna 2001, Novomatic Italia and led by IGT, has been recommended by the Judging Commission for the renewal of the Italian Lotto licence.

The Italian customs and monopolies agency, Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM), is expected to officially confirm the award within the next 35 days.

Commenting on the announcement, Marco Sala, Executive Chair of the Board at IGT, said:

“The Italian Lotto concession is one of the world’s most important lottery contracts. IGT and its predecessor companies have successfully managed the licence for more than 30 years through constant innovation and the introduction of cutting-edge technology. The award is very gratifying, and we are honoured and excited to continue working with the ADM for nine more years.”

LottoItalia’s bid included a €2.23 billion upfront licence fee, to be paid in three instalments between the licence award and April 2026. IGT expects the first two instalments—€500 million and €300 million—to be paid during 2025, with the remaining balance due in 2026.

The renewed nine-year licence will extend LottoItalia’s operation through to November 2034.
