Vbet Becomes Main Sponsor of Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas in Historic Deal

Vbet has been announced as the new main sponsor of Brazilian football club Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas.

Under a three-year agreement, Vbet's logo will be prominently displayed on the front of both the men's and women's team kits. This partnership represents the largest commercial contract in the 130-year history of the Carioca Serie A club.

Ruben Tovmasyan, CEO of Vbet Brazil, commented:

“This partnership is an important milestone for Vbet, demonstrating our dedication to growth and our ambitious plans in Brazil. The ‘V’ in Vbet stands for ‘victory’ and we are proud to partner with a club that has achieved so much success in its history.

“Our commitment to regulatory compliance in Brazil supports our goal of delivering an exceptional experience to football fans, with a focus on safety, reliability, and innovation.”

The announcement was made at an event held on Monday in Rio de Janeiro and shared across social media platforms.

“The partnership with Vbet is an important moment for Botafogo and our fans,” added Thairo Arruda, CEO of Botafogo.

“The champion of Brazil and America joins forces with a global company that believes in the work of the Club and its legacy. Vbet comes to join forces and brings the necessary momentum for Botafogo to continue its path at the top of Brazilian and world football.”

Vbet is active in football sponsorships globally, supporting teams such as AS Monaco and OGC Nice from France, Arsenal from the UK, Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine, and the national teams of Argentina, Ukraine, and Malta.

Controversies at Botafogo

Earlier last year, before a hearing with the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of the Brazilian Senate, Botafogo owner John Textor declared that he had evidence of match-fixing during Serie A matches in Brazil.

“This is a very important day for me and I hope it is also important for Brazilian football. It is a sport that we all love,” Textor began his statement, which was made in English. He thanked the Senate for receiving him and for the “courage” to investigate the issue.

“Match-fixing happens just as much as doping. Nobody wants to believe it until we realize that this can happen anywhere,” he said, revealing that, thanks to technology used by the company Good Game!—hired by the club to analyze matches—he had detected suspicions on certain occasions.
