Flutter Raises £357,000 for Cure Leukaemia to Advance Blood Cancer Research
The donation will significantly contribute to the Aticus network, a groundbreaking infrastructure providing access to innovative blood cancer treatments across 15 UK hospitals.

Flutter has raised an impressive £357,000 ($453,000) to fund clinical trials and research for Cure Leukaemia, a leading blood cancer charity.
The donation will significantly contribute to the Aticus network, a groundbreaking infrastructure providing access to innovative blood cancer treatments across 15 UK hospitals. Costing £1 million annually to operate, the network is pivotal in offering clinical trials and is now extending its support to children for the first time, providing hope to families in need of advanced treatments.
The funds were gathered through year-round initiatives, culminating in the Flutter Charity Ball held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. Hosted by ITV Racing presenters Ed Chamberlin and Oli Bell, the event alone raised £282,000. The evening was attended by sports personalities, charity ambassadors, and patrons, united in their support for the cause.
Among the ambassadors was George Lineker, son of football legend Gary Lineker, who shared his inspiring journey of surviving acute myeloid leukaemia as a baby. Guests also heard powerful testimonies from families impacted by blood cancer, including Jo and Jim Hawkridge, who credited Cure Leukaemia-supported clinical trials with saving their son’s life.
Steve Birch, CCO of Sky Betting & Gaming, reflected on the impact of the event:
“The charity ball is always our biggest fundraising event, and every year our colleagues and partners never disappoint as they come together to raise money for well-deserving causes. I’ve visited the Christy Research Centre in Manchester, which is one of 15 centres that Cure Leukaemia supports, and I saw myself the importance and impact that the money Flutter has raised over the last year makes.
“We are truly grateful for the generosity of attendees who collectively helped us to raise a great amount for Cure Leukaemia so they can continue their work to find a cure for blood cancer.”
Flutter’s contribution reinforces its commitment to supporting life-saving research and offering hope to patients and families affected by blood cancer.
