Betfred has celebrated the reopening of its Warrington Head Office following a multimillion-pound refurbishment that modernized the facilities and highlighted its sporting heritage.

The reopening ceremony on 22 November featured Betfred Founder and Chairman Fred Done, alongside Speaker of the House of Commons and Rugby Football League President Sir Lindsay Hoyle, who unveiled a commemorative plaque at the newly upgraded Spectrum HQ.

Historic Venue with a Modern Twist

Originally known as the Warrington Spectrum, a performance venue for live music and sports, the revamped 50,000 sq ft headquarters now accommodates over 450 staff. Key features include:

  • The ‘Nifty 50’ Studio, which hosts Betfred’s £5m top-prize numbers game with live presenters.

  • The Immersion Tunnel, a high-tech, stadium-inspired space showcasing the company’s sporting legacy.

Fred Done on Betfred’s Growth

“Reopening our Spectrum HQ is a very proud moment for me and my family,” said Fred Done. “We’ve come a long way since having one shop in Salford in 1967, and I’m delighted that, because of our close association with Rugby League, Sir Lindsay Hoyle has kindly agreed to officially open the building.”

Global Operations and Local Commitment

The refurbished HQ supports Betfred’s satellite offices in Manchester, Salford, Gibraltar, the US, and South Africa, reinforcing its global footprint. Despite its international growth, Betfred remains committed to its local roots as one of the largest employers in the North West of England and the UK’s leading retail bookmaker.

CEO Joanne Whitaker on the Vision Behind the Redesign:

“The reopening of the Spectrum marks a fresh chapter for us,” said Group CEO Joanne Whitaker. “This redesign is more than just a new look – it’s about building an inspiring, collaborative environment that reflects our bold ambitions. We’ve created a dynamic space where ideas can flourish, and our teams can come together. We’re excited about the possibilities this new headquarters will open up and are looking forward to the journey ahead.”

The revamped Spectrum HQ symbolizes Betfred’s evolution while honoring its history and solidifying its position as a leader in the betting industry.
