Evoke Raises £117,000 for Motor Neurone Disease Association at Inaugural Charity Gala
The funds raised will support the MND Association’s mission to improve care

Evoke, the operator behind brands such as William Hill, 888, and Mr Green, has successfully raised £117,000 ($148,339) for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association through its first-ever Charity Gala.
Held on November 14 at the Royal Armories Museum in Leeds, the event welcomed over 450 attendees, including employees, management, partners, and celebrity ambassadors. The funds raised will support the MND Association’s mission to improve care access, advance research, and advocate for those living with the condition. The charity was chosen following a colleague-led review process.
In the UK, over 5,000 people are diagnosed with MND each year. The city of Leeds, where Evoke employs a significant number of staff, has felt the impact of the disease acutely, especially after the recent passing of former Leeds Rhinos player Rob Burrow.
This cause holds personal significance for Evoke employee Leisa Byers, whose niece, Tamara, was diagnosed with MND at just 26. During the gala, Tamara and her family collaborated with the charity to share a heartfelt awareness video highlighting the disease’s impact.
Evoke CEO Per Widerström commented:
"Through our charity gala – a fantastic occasion that brought together our colleagues, partners, and ambassadors – we wanted to play our part in raising vital funds for this charity while showcasing our commitment to support the causes that matter to our colleagues and the broader community.”
Ian D Gardner, Head of Philanthropy at the Motor Neurone Disease Association, expressed his gratitude:
"We are extremely grateful to Evoke and everyone who attended the inaugural Evoke the Stars event. Thanks to your generosity, we raised £117,000 – making it one of the most successful corporate fundraising evenings we've ever had.”
The gala marks another milestone for Evoke, following its acquisition of Winner.ro earlier this year to strengthen its presence in key markets, including Romania.
