BoyleSports has made a generous donation of £10,000 ($13,000) to Bipolar UK, surpassing the original amount raised during the BoyleSports World Grand Prix darts tournament held at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.

As part of the event, BoyleSports had pledged £20 for every double 20 hit throughout the competition. A total of 365 double 20s were recorded, including the winning dart by Mike De Decker in the final, where he triumphed 6-4 over Luke Humphries. This initially raised £7,300.

BoyleSports then decided to increase the donation to £10,000 to further support Bipolar UK, a charity chosen by darts player and Bipolar UK ambassador, James Wade.

Wade, who hit 40 double 20s during his quarter-final run, expressed his gratitude:

“This is a fantastic gesture by BoyleSports and on behalf of Bipolar UK I’d like to thank them for their generosity. This donation will help to make a difference with the valuable work they do and the support that they provide to people with bipolar. I’d have loved to have won the BoyleSports World Grand Prix last week, but it’s a nice way to remember the tournament that my double 20s have been able to help in this way.”

Sharon McHugh, Head of PR and Sponsorship for BoyleSports, also commented on the donation:

“We are proud to support Bipolar UK with this £10,000 donation, helping to advance their vital work in supporting individuals affected by the condition. Mental health is an issue that touches many lives and we hope this contribution furthers their mission to make a meaningful impact on awareness and support.”

The donation will help Bipolar UK continue its work in providing support and raising awareness for those affected by bipolar disorder.
