GamProtect: New UK Gambling Scheme to Launch Next Week

Next week marks the highly anticipated launch of GamProtect, a groundbreaking safety solution set to revolutionize the gambling industry.

GamProtect enables operators to securely share critical information with other participating operators, targeting customers in need of enhanced support and protection from gambling-related harm.

This initiative, developed by the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) with contributions from the Gambling Commission, the Information Commissioner’s Office, and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), represents a significant leap forward in promoting safer gambling.

The launch event is scheduled for Wednesday, 11 September, at Prospero House in London, bringing together key figures who have been instrumental in the scheme’s creation.

Attendees will gain insights into the practical operation of GamProtect, including its technical framework and essential considerations related to data protection and responsible gambling.

GamProtect Chairman Kane Purdy expressed his enthusiasm:

“After four years of hard work, we are delighted to officially launch GamProtect and welcome the entire sector to learn more about what it is and how it works."

“GamProtect is truly designed by industry, for industry, and we firmly believe it is the most advanced safety solution available to operators today."

The event will feature a variety of speakers, including industry leaders, current GamProtect users, and senior representatives like Tim Miller from the Gambling Commission. Ample opportunities for questions and discussions will be provided.
