Wyoming, a US state that has been vocal in its opposition of legalising online gambling, has today shown a change of heard and approved a sports betting bill.

According to sources, the Wyoming House of Representatives changed its position and voted to pass the bill which will see online betting overseen by the Wyoming Gaming Commission.

The bill would legalise sports betting and bring huge amounts in tax revenues into the state. The document will now be passed to the Senate for further debate, where it is expected to succeed.

“It’s already happening, so you have the opportunity to regulate it and craft the framework around what works and doesn’t work,” said Representative Jared Olsen.

“To protect the citizens of Wyoming without telling them the choices they can and cannot make, it’s setting parameters that keeps consumers safe.”
