John McCracken, the director of commissioning for treatment services at GambleAware, has announced that he has stepped down from his role.
McCracken has been with the non-profit for around three years, coming to the charity from the UK government’s Department of Health where he served as head of drugs policy.
Whilst with GambleAware, McCracken was involved with early development of the National Gambling Treatment Service (NGTS); an initiative credited for having a positive impact on harmful gambling.
McCraken has also been celebrated for creating links with the National Health Service in England, Scotland and Wales on the subject of responsible gambling.
Dr Jane Rigbye, GambleAware’s director of education, will take on McCracken’s role on an interim basis, overseen by new chief executive Zoë Osmond.
