Stake Engine Rebrands As Engine And Opens To Operators

Stake has confirmed that Stake Engine has been rebranded as Engine, with the platform’s technology and creator ecosystem now being made available to operators beyond Stake.

Announced on 15 September 2026, the change expands a system originally developed to produce exclusive content for Stake into a distribution platform for the wider iGaming industry.

Games distributed through Engine will be available to operators through a single integration. The company said titles developed on the platform have generated more than $23bn in total turnover from over 9.7bn bets to date.

Engine Opens Creator Ecosystem To Operators

Engine currently brings together more than 1,000 game creators, with over 250 new titles produced each week.

Under the new model, developers and creators can build games through Engine while operators gain access to the resulting content library. The platform will handle distribution and settlement across the participating creators.

Games distributed through Engine use provably fair mechanics, allowing their outcomes to be independently verified.

The platform also operates under a standardised contract for operators and creators, with Engine managing settlement through a single monthly invoice. Operators retain the majority of revenue generated by the games they distribute.

Ed Craven, co-founder of Stake, said the platform had evolved beyond its original purpose of producing content for the operator.

“Engine has already proved that a creator-led community can create some truly fantastic, quality games, at scale. But what initially started as a way of removing the barriers to entry to game development has now grown into a content development Engine with enormous potential. Our evolution into Engine marks a new chapter in that growth journey.”

Craven added:

“We’re building on that solid foundation that we’ve created and taking the Engine model beyond Stake. We want creators to be able to build new and exciting games, and broaden that reach to audiences across the industry. And for operators, this means access to a wealth of new and exciting original content and tools that they can use to build creator ecosystems of their own. With 1,000 creators on board, and hundreds of games being added to the pipeline every week, we believe that this will fundamentally change how casino content is created and distributed going forward.”

Platform Covers Development And Distribution

Hayden Bruin, head of operations at Engine, said the platform was designed to consolidate several stages of the game development process.

“The goal has always been to make building and launching games dramatically easier for developers. Engine brings the entire process together in one place – from development and testing through to approval, deployment, distribution and monetisation.”

Bruin added that developers can potentially move from an initial concept to a live game within 24 hours.

“We’ve already shown that a developer can go from an idea to a live game in as little as 24 hours. Now, by opening Engine to operators, that same game can have the potential to reach audiences far beyond a single platform. That changes the opportunity for creators significantly. Developers can spend more time building great games and less time dealing with fragmented technology, integrations and operational complexity, while operators gain access to a much broader and faster-moving source of original content.”

Stake Continues Regulated Market Expansion

The rebrand comes as Stake continues its expansion into regulated local-currency markets, including Italy, Denmark, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Argentina.

Founded in 2017, the operator reports more than 100 million monthly visits across its global domains.
