Sydney Sweeney Becomes Novig Equity Partner In New ‘Just Sports’ Campaign
The actress has joined the sports prediction market as an equity partner and stars in a provocative campaign promoting its sports-only approach.

Sydney Sweeney has become an equity partner in sports prediction market Novig, fronting a new marketing campaign as competition for customers intensifies across the US event-contract sector.

The actress stars in Novig's new “Just Sports” campaign, which uses a series of provocative sports-themed scenes to emphasise the platform's focus exclusively on sporting events. The campaign arrives at the beginning of the NFL season and follows a series of high-profile celebrity partnerships announced by competing prediction market platforms.
“Think you know sports? Prove it,” Sweeney says in the advertisement. “Novig is just sports. So they wanted to show just sports.”
Sweeney Takes Equity Stake In Novig
Sweeney's involvement extends beyond appearing in the campaign, with the actress joining Novig as an equity partner and participating in the creative development of the advertising concept.
She described “Just Sports” as a deliberately simple campaign designed to distinguish Novig from prediction market competitors offering contracts across politics and other real-world events.
“I've always believed that the best partnerships are the ones where everyone's getting to collaborate,” Sweeney said. “I don’t like to just put my face on something. I really want to be able to get into the weeds of it with an amazing team.”
The campaign makes that differentiation explicit, with Sweeney telling viewers: “Just sports. No betting on wars or deaths and no politics.”
Novig's positioning contrasts with competitors including Polymarket and Kalshi, which offer event contracts across categories extending beyond sport. The company describes its product as a sports prediction market designed specifically for sports traders.
The advertisement has quickly attracted significant attention online. It generated more than three million views on X shortly after its release, while also prompting a mixture of positive and critical responses over its provocative creative approach.
Prediction Markets Turn To Celebrity Partnerships
Novig's campaign comes as leading prediction market companies increasingly use prominent sports and entertainment figures to attract mainstream audiences.
Polymarket recently announced a partnership with NBA star LeBron James before launching a wider campaign featuring Eli Manning, Derek Jeter, Richard Sherman, Spike Lee and John Leguizamo. James' initial Polymarket announcement has generated more than 20 million views on X.
Kalshi has followed a similar strategy, featuring Lionel Messi in advertising around the FIFA World Cup, while NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo became a shareholder in the company earlier this year.
Sweeney's involvement gives Novig another recognisable figure as it attempts to compete for sports-focused customers at the beginning of the new NFL season.
Sports Event Contracts Face Regulatory Challenges
The increased marketing activity comes as sports prediction markets continue to face regulatory challenges across the US.
Event-contract exchanges operate within the federal commodities regulatory framework overseen by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), while a number of state gambling regulators have challenged the legality of offering sports-related contracts without state sports betting licences.
Michigan recently moved to prevent Kalshi from offering sports event contracts in the state while allowing the platform to continue offering other categories of contracts.
The disputes have created an increasingly complex environment for prediction market companies as sports become a major driver of trading volumes. Against that backdrop, Novig is positioning its entire proposition around sport, with the Sweeney partnership forming a central part of its efforts to build awareness and differentiate itself from larger rivals.
