Bally’s Begins Search For New CFO Following Mira Mircheva Resignation
Bally’s President George Papanier has been appointed interim CFO after Mircheva stepped down from the role for personal reasons.

Bally’s Corporation has begun the search for a new Chief Financial Officer following the resignation of Mira Mircheva for personal reasons.
Mircheva’s final day as CFO is 4 September, although she will remain with the company until the end of the month. Bally’s President George Papanier has been appointed interim CFO while the company searches for a permanent successor.
Papanier Returns To Interim CFO Role
Papanier brings more than two decades of operational and financial leadership experience at Bally’s to the position. He has overseen the company’s land-based casino operations since October 2021 and previously served as Bally’s President and CEO between February 2011 and October 2021, having initially joined the business as Chief Operating Officer in 2004.
The appointment also marks Papanier’s second spell as interim CFO, having previously held the position temporarily in 2023.
Robeson Reeves, CEO of Bally’s, said:
“On behalf of the entire board and executive management team, I want to thank Mira for her dedication to Bally's and we wish her great success going forward.
“Having spent more than two decades in key operating and financial leadership roles at Bally’s, George has been instrumental in developing our business model, asset portfolio, and growth strategy.
“He steps into the interim role supported by an experienced finance organisation, and I am confident that our reporting, controls and capital markets work will continue without disruption.”
Mircheva Departs After 16 Months As CFO
Mircheva was appointed Bally’s CFO in May 2025 and has held the position for approximately 16 months. Her previous experience includes serving as Vice President at Goldman Sachs.
The leadership change comes during a significant period for Bally’s finances and development pipeline. As part of its second-quarter results, the company filed a going concern warning and confirmed that construction had been paused on the non-gaming elements of its Chicago casino development.
Bally’s will now conduct a search for Mircheva’s permanent replacement, with Papanier overseeing its finance function in the interim.
