The NFL has named Betcris as its first official sports betting partner for Latin America, marking a significant milestone in the league’s international commercial strategy.

Under the agreement, Betcris, an online betting operator headquartered in Costa Rica, has been granted the rights to promote NFL betting products across Mexico, Central America and South America. The deal allows the operator to use official NFL trademarks and branding, as well as gain exposure across the league’s digital platforms.

Christopher Halpin, the NFL’s executive vice president and head of strategy and growth, said the partnership reflects the league’s growing fan base in the region.

“As our fan base continues to grow in Latin America, it was important that we partner with a trusted industry leader in the territory,” Halpin said. “Betcris’s capabilities in this important region, along with its management team’s experience and commitment to high standards, made it the right partner for the NFL. We look forward to working together to engage new and existing fans.”

As part of the agreement, Betcris becomes an official sponsor of the NFL International Series game staged in Mexico and a presenting partner of the league’s free-to-play Pick’Em game.

The partnership builds on Betcris’s wider push into major professional sports. The operator already has commercial ties with other leading US leagues, including Major League Baseball and the NBA, as it looks to strengthen its profile across regulated and emerging markets.

Betcris chief executive JD Duarte described the agreement as a landmark moment for the company.

“We are extremely excited to become the first official sports betting partner of the NFL in Latin America,” Duarte said. “This partnership is the result of years of work to establish Betcris as a household name in the region and gives us a strong competitive advantage as we pursue our long-term goals.”

NFL accelerates international expansion

The deal comes as the NFL continues to grow its global footprint through the International Series. While early overseas games were largely concentrated in the UK, the league has since expanded to host regular-season fixtures in countries including Mexico, Germany, Spain, Ireland and Brazil.

Looking ahead, the Los Angeles Rams are scheduled to play the first-ever NFL regular-season game in Australia in 2026, underlining the league’s ambitions to broaden its reach beyond the United States.

With commercial partnerships now extending further into international betting markets, the NFL’s strategy increasingly reflects its status as a global sports brand rather than one confined to its domestic audience.
