Sportradar Completes Strategic Acquisition of IMG Arena
Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl described the deal as a “significant milestone” that enhances the company’s access to premium global content and complements its existing portfolio.

Switzerland-based sports technology company Sportradar has completed a major strategic acquisition, aimed at strengthening its position as a leader in data-driven content for the world’s most bet-on sports.
Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl described the deal as a “significant milestone” that enhances the company’s access to premium global content and complements its existing portfolio.
He added: “With this, we are uniquely positioned to deliver even more immersive, data rich experiences to our clients, partners and fans around the world while accelerating innovation at scale across the global sports ecosystem.”
The acquisition brings Sportradar strategic relationships with more than 70 international sports rightsholders, adding approximately 38,000 official data events and 29,000 live streaming events each year. These include high-profile tournaments such as the US Open, Wimbledon, Roland-Garros, Major League Soccer, and the PGA Tour, alongside basketball and soccer leagues across Europe, North America, and Australia.
One million and counting
Following the deal, Sportradar’s global coverage will now exceed 1 million sports matches annually across 14 sports and six continents. Uniquely, the acquisition requires no direct financial consideration from Sportradar. Total consideration is valued at $225m, comprising around $122m in prepayments made by the seller to certain sports rightsholders and $103m to be paid directly to Sportradar over the next two years, subject to standard purchase price adjustments.
Sportradar stated that integrating IMG Arena’s content portfolio will expand its capabilities in distributing official sports data and live streams to sportsbooks and media partners worldwide. The move is expected to strengthen the company’s ability to deliver real-time data experiences that enhance both betting integrity and entertainment value in regulated markets.
The acquisition is projected to improve adjusted EBITDA margins and free cash flow, while also supporting faster growth in revenue and overall profitability.
