GGPoker Launches ‘Face Off’ Campaign with Comedy Legend Johnny Vegas

GGPoker has unveiled a new ‘Face Off’ campaign in collaboration with comedian Johnny Vegas.

The initiative will run across several platforms, including YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), talkSPORT, and television broadcasts.

As part of the promotion, GGPoker is also hosting daily Face Off Freerolls worth £2,000 ($2,666.79).

One of the first campaign videos features Johnny Vegas – real name Michael Joseph Pennington – going head-to-head with another person legally named Johnny Vegas. The humorous encounter nods to GGPoker’s use of real names on its high-stakes VIP tables.

Angela Martin, GGPoker’s Head of Marketing for the UK & Ireland, explained:

“With ‘Face Off,’ we wanted to remind people why they fell in love with poker in the first place. It’s not just about the cards; it’s about the tension, and the moments of genius (or madness) that make it such a uniquely human game.

“Johnny Vegas is not just a legend of comedy – his name says it all. He brings a touch of Vegas flair to the UK poker scene, while keeping it witty and completely human.

“‘Face Off’ is our way of saying that poker should be fun, social, and full of personality again. This is GGPoker doubling down on the UK and on the players who make the game what it is.”

Johnny Vegas is best known for his roles in Ideal, Benidorm, QI, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and the iconic PG Tips adverts alongside the knitted monkey.
