The newly rebranded Boyle Sports has extended its partnership with the prestigious Galway Races, confirming it will remain the Saturday title sponsor for a further three years.

The independent Irish bookmaker has renewed the agreement, which will see its name continue to feature on the €110,000 Boyle Sports Handicap Hurdle—the main event on day six—as well as the €17,000 Boyle Sports Maiden Hurdle.

In a notable change, the €80,000 Galway Tribes Hurdle, previously run on the Friday, will now be held on Saturday and brought under the Boyle Sports sponsorship banner.

Michael Moloney, CEO of the Galway Races, commented:

“This change gives horses that don’t make the cut for Thursday’s feature Hurdle another valuable opportunity to compete, enhancing the overall quality and excitement of the week’s racing.”

The addition of the Friday race to Boyle Sports’ portfolio enhances the brand’s exposure during one of Ireland’s biggest racing festivals. This development also follows the operator’s recent multi-year sponsorship agreement with Premier League side West Ham United.

Founded in Ireland in 1982, Boyle Sports has a longstanding association with horseracing. In 2014, it became the headline sponsor of the Irish Grand National—a deal that currently runs through to 2027.

The Galway Races partnership is a more recent addition to the bookmaker’s sponsorship roster, having been established in 2022.

Liam McKee, Head of Sponsorship at Boyle Sports, said:

“This year’s renewal feels particularly special as it coincides with an exciting new chapter for Boyle Sports as our major brand relaunch gets underway.”
