EGBA Members Complete Annual Review of Pan-European AML Guidelines
The reporting is part of the EGBA’s pan-European AML Guidelines, which were introduced in 2023 to provide practical, industry-specific guidance for gambling operators.

Members of the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) have completed their annual reporting cycle as part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to enhance anti-money laundering (AML) standards across the sector.
The reporting is part of the EGBA’s pan-European AML Guidelines, which were introduced in 2023 to provide practical, industry-specific guidance for gambling operators. The guidelines cover key compliance areas including customer and business risk assessments, due diligence procedures, suspicious transaction reporting, and record keeping.
This annual process is designed to help refine and adapt the guidelines, ensuring they remain relevant, effective, and responsive to the evolving regulatory landscape.
Following this year’s feedback, the EGBA has confirmed it is considering several updates to the guidelines, including “a minimum list of documents for AML purposes and enhanced guidance on risk assessments, payments, outsourcing and sports integrity.”
A full update of the guidelines is scheduled for 2026, which will bring them into line with the upcoming EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation.
