Paddy Power Pays Out Early on Liverpool’s Premier League Title Win

Paddy Power has paid out early on bets backing Liverpool FC to win the 2024/2025 Premier League title, declaring the race “OVER” following Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to West Ham on Saturday.

The move means punters who placed bets on Arne Slot’s side lifting the trophy have already received their winnings—regardless of how the remainder of the season unfolds.

Announcing the decision on X, Paddy Power stated:

“We’ve seen enough. With Arsenal losing to West Ham, the title race is as good as over. So we’re paying out on Liverpool to win the 2024/2025 Premier League.”

The early payout applies to outright winner bets on Liverpool, covering both singles and multiples across online and retail platforms.

Paddy Power clarified that while bets placed before Saturday, February 22, have been settled, all Premier League markets remain open, meaning customers can still wager on the title race—including backing Liverpool again if they wish.

The bookmaker acknowledged its history of bold calls, admitting:

“We haven’t always got it right. There was the time Paddy paid out on Hilary Clinton to win the 2016 election, and then she lost to Donald Trump. Or, the time he paid out on Tiger Woods to win the PGA Championship in 2009 when he was four shots clear on day three.”

Similarly, Betfred boss Fred Done has also paid out over £1 million on Liverpool to win the title, with 11 games still remaining in the season. This marks the tenth time Done has made an early payout on a Premier League winner—his first being Manchester United in 1998.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the table, newly-promoted Leicester City, Ipswich Town, and Southampton are struggling to stay afloat, while established club Wolves also find themselves in poor form, adding further intrigue to the season’s conclusion.
