Curaçao Gaming Authority Seeks Industry Insight on New Responsible Gaming Policy
The consultation period for the document is open until March 5, allowing stakeholders ample time to review and provide their input.

The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) is inviting industry feedback on its newly unveiled responsible gaming policy. Released on Friday, the policy outlines mandatory requirements for B2C operators in key areas such as player protection, age verification, player self-assessment, and self-exclusion. The consultation period for the document is open until March 5, allowing stakeholders ample time to review and provide their input.
The CGA plans to start monitoring the policy’s implementation in four months. Emphasizing the need for swift action, the authority stated:
“Regardless of when monitoring begins, the operator must immediately implement as many mandatory requirements as possible and initiate any necessary arrangements, including technical development, to meet the remaining minimum requirements within the transition timeline.”
Additionally, while the CGA typically collaborates with designated representative organizations during policy development, none have come forward in this instance. As a result, the regulator is reaching out directly to the broader sector—including both current and potential license holders—for their views. The CGA commented,
“In accordance with Article 12.1(4) of the LOK, the CGA consults with representative organisations when drafting policy. As yet no such organisations have presented themselves and, as a result, has not been designated yet, we are inviting the broader sector – including current and potential license holders – to share their views.
“Given the urgency and critical importance of this policy to promote responsible gaming practices and protect individuals from gambling-related harm, it is essential to proceed with finalisation.
“This approach of broader consultation ensures that a wide range of stakeholders can contribute meaningfully.”
