Ukraine Gambling Regulatory Body Goes into Liquidation
A proposed replacement body is expected to be operational by April and will be accompanied by the creation of a ministry tasked with overseeing gambling and lottery policies. Measures will also be introduced to restrict access to illegal gambling websites and mobile applications.

A new regulatory body overseeing gambling is set to be established in Ukraine following the liquidation of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (CRGL).
The proposed replacement body is expected to be operational by April and will be accompanied by the creation of a ministry tasked with overseeing gambling and lottery policies. Measures will also be introduced to restrict access to illegal gambling websites and mobile applications.
This initiative stems from a bill signed by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, aimed at combating gambling addiction and enhancing the regulation of gambling and lotteries in the region.
Additionally, a ban on gambling advertising has been implemented, with exceptions allowing ads only under specific conditions—such as on TV and radio at night, in media targeting those aged 21 and over, or on platforms and search engines catering to a similar audience.
In October, the Ukrainian Gambling Council (UGC) had appealed to Google to reconsider its policy of blocking advertisements from licensed Ukrainian operators.
