Delasport Secures GLI Certification Ahead of Brazilian Sportsbook Launch
Under the SPA's regulations, operators must submit additional certification documents with their licence application to prove compliance with local technical standards.
Delasport has obtained a GLI certification as it prepares to roll out its sportsbook offering in the Brazilian market. This milestone ensures the company meets the technical standards set by Brazil's Secretariat for Prizes and Betting (SPA), a critical step for operators applying for a Brazilian licence.
Under the SPA's regulations, operators must submit additional certification documents with their licence application to prove compliance with local technical standards. Once approved, operators can proceed to pay the Brazilian licence fee, which is currently set at 30m BRL (£3.9m).
To meet these requirements, Delasport partnered with Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), a leading certification body in Brazil and the first laboratory accredited by the SPA to certify betting systems, live game studios, and online games.
Filippo Ferri, Delasport’s Chief Compliance Officer, emphasized the importance of this achievement:
“When we learnt that providing platform certificates to the regulator was on our partner operators’ critical path for obtaining the licence, we immediately prioritised submitting the system to GLI for testing.
“Needless to say, GLI did a tremendous job of working with us to conduct the tests in record time, to match the submission deadline of some of our clients. I am also very proud of how our internal departments worked together to obtain this certificate, and of how they continue to push forward with the delivery of a data vault system that complies with SIGAP requirements.”
In addition, Delasport integrates an AI-powered, real-time Responsible Gambling system that adapts swiftly to regulatory changes. The company also upholds rigorous KYC and AML compliance standards and has partnered with major Brazil-facing payment providers to ensure seamless transactions.
