Virgin Bet Renews Sponsorship for Musselburgh Racecourse’s New Year's Day Raceday

Musselburgh Racecourse has announced the return of Virgin Bet as the title sponsor for two of its premier events in 2025: New Year’s Day Raceday on January 1 and Easter Saturday Raceday on April 19.

The New Year’s Day Raceday, known to attract over 6,000 racing fans, will include notable jump races like the £40,000 Auld Reekie Handicap Chase and the £30,000 Hogmaneigh Hurdle, contributing to a total prize fund of over £100,000. Meanwhile, the Easter Saturday Raceday will highlight prestigious events such as the £100,000 Queen’s Cup and Scotland’s renowned Scottish Sprint Cup, celebrated as the nation’s fastest race.

Virgin Bet’s Marketing Director, Dominic Vye, shared the brand’s enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to continue our longstanding partnership with Musselburgh Racecourse as the headline sponsor for both the Easter Saturday Raceday and New Year’s Day Raceday. Supporting these key events in the Scottish racing calendar aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering an unparalleled sports betting experience.”

Musselburgh’s Commercial and Operations Director, Sarah Montgomery, expressed her excitement about the renewed sponsorship:

“We are delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with Virgin Bet and LiveScore Bet and look forward to hosting another fantastic edition of the Virgin Bet Easter Saturday and New Year's Day Raceday, two highlights of our ‘Sensational 6’ racedays. We’re also thrilled to have Virgin Bet’s Personal Safety Partner, WalkSafe, integrated into their sponsorships with us, supporting a safe and welcoming environment for all spectators at our events as part of Virgin Bet’s ‘A Good Bet’ initiative.

These sponsorships reinforce Virgin Bet’s commitment to enhancing the spectator experience and supporting the traditional excitement of Scottish racing.

This announcement joins a growing list of recent UK racing sponsorship agreements, with BetMGM sponsoring the Queen Mother Champion Chase and William Hill confirming it will sponsor the County Handicap Hurdle for the upcoming Cheltenham Festival.
