Sportsbook provider Altenar will support Wildz Group’s entry into Finland’s upcoming regulated online gambling market, extending a partnership that began in 2024.

The Malta-based operator was the first company to publicly announce that it had secured a Finnish online gambling licence, allowing it to prepare for the market’s planned opening next year.

The collaboration marks a further step in Wildz Group’s expansion beyond its casino-focused operations, with Altenar providing sportsbook technology, regional expertise, Nordic trading specialists and localised content.

Partnership Supports Finnish Market Entry

Wildz Group CEO Sam Brown said Altenar had played a central role in developing the operator’s international sports betting offering.

“Altenar has been central to the success of our Global sports betting offering, and we anticipate a superb response in Finland once the market opens in July 2027,” Brown said.

“With the flexibility of the Altenar toolkit we will be able to build an industry-leading sports betting experience for Finnish players.”

Dinos Stranomitis, COO at Altenar, said Finland’s transition to a competitive online gambling market presented an important development for the sector.

“Finland’s move towards a competitive online gambling market represents an important development for the industry. Entering a new regulated market requires the right technology, flexibility and a clear understanding of local requirements,” Stranomitis said.

“We are pleased to power Wildz Group’s entry into Finland and support its ambitions with sportsbook technology designed to adapt to different market conditions and business objectives.”

Finland Prepares for Online Gambling Liberalisation

Finland is replacing its state-controlled online gambling model with a licensing system that will allow private operators to compete in the market.

The application process opened on 1 March 2026, attracting interest from operators ahead of the planned launch on 1 July 2027.

For Altenar, the agreement with Wildz Group builds on its strategy of supplying sportsbook technology to operators entering regulated jurisdictions. Its platform is designed to accommodate local market requirements and different commercial objectives as operators expand internationally.
