Brightstar Lottery Secures Two-Year Contract Extension With New York Lottery
The lottery technology supplier will continue supporting New York's lottery operations under an extended agreement with the New York State Gaming Commission.

Brightstar Lottery has secured a two-year contract extension with the New York State Gaming Commission, continuing its longstanding relationship with one of the largest lottery markets in the United States.
The agreement, announced on 20 October, was signed through Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brightstar Lottery PLC, and will see the company continue providing lottery technology and services across New York.
The extension maintains an established supplier relationship spanning several decades, ensuring continuity for the New York Lottery as it continues generating funding for public education throughout the state.
Brightstar, formerly the lottery division of International Game Technology (IGT), operates internationally as a specialist provider of lottery systems, digital solutions and gaming content.
Brightstar Continues Supporting New York Lottery Operations
Under the renewed agreement, Brightstar will maintain its existing technology and service arrangements with the New York State Gaming Commission, which oversees the activities of the New York Lottery.
The two-year extension provides operational continuity for a lottery programme that contributes substantial funding towards public education, with proceeds supporting schools and educational initiatives across New York.
Large-scale lottery operations depend on established technology infrastructure to manage ticket sales, retailer networks, transactions and prize validation, making supplier relationships an important consideration for state regulators.
Brightstar Chief Operating Officer, North America Lottery, Scott Gunn said:
“Brightstar is dedicated to continue fulfilling our contractual obligations through this two-year contract extension and supporting the New York Lottery's successful track record serving New York public schools.”
The company has not disclosed the financial terms of the extension or announced any additional technology deployments associated with the agreement.
US Lottery Partnerships Remain A Key Focus
The New York agreement follows other contract renewals secured by Brightstar across the regulated US lottery industry, including a recent extension of its relationship with Washington's Lottery through to 2036.
Such agreements allow state lotteries to maintain established systems while assessing future operational requirements, particularly where replacing central technology infrastructure could involve significant investment and disruption.
For Brightstar, retaining relationships with major state lottery customers remains an important part of its business model, supporting recurring service arrangements and its position within the US market.
The company currently serves nearly 90 lottery customers across six continents and acts as the primary technology provider for 26 of the 46 lottery jurisdictions in the United States.
Brightstar also supplies central systems to eight of the world's ten largest lotteries using such technology, reflecting the scale of its international operations.
Brightstar Builds On Lottery-Focused Restructuring
The contract extension comes as Brightstar continues operating under its rebranded identity following the restructuring of International Game Technology's former lottery business.
The company now operates as Brightstar Lottery PLC, trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BRSL, with its activities focused on lottery technology, retail and digital solutions, and game development.
Employing approximately 6,000 people worldwide, Brightstar provides services to government-backed and regulated lottery organisations across established and emerging markets.
Its portfolio includes lottery central systems, retail technology, digital gaming products and operational services designed to support lottery operators and their distribution networks.
The renewed New York agreement reinforces Brightstar's position within the US lottery industry while providing the New York State Gaming Commission with continued access to its existing technology and services.
With the extension now agreed, the two organisations will maintain their established relationship for a further two years, supporting the New York Lottery's operations and its contribution to public education funding.
